So what’s going on?

Checking out some of the music and entertainment news this morning…

Coldplay’s current tour, A Head Full of Dreams Tour has now grossed $412 million, and has knocked Madonna’s 2008/2009 tour Sticky & Sweet Tour, which earned $408, out the the number 5 top grossing concert tours of all time! The all-time highest grossing tour remains U2’s 360 Tour, which tallied a massive $736.4 million during its run from 2009 through 2011.

Beyonce and JayZ have just brought on nannies to care for the newborn twins, Rumi and Sir, a total of *6* nannies to be exact, bringing the total of nannies on staff, to 8. Do you think that’s appropriate, excessive or what?

Just a few of the musicians and celebs celebrating a birthday today, July 28th are:  Peggy Fleming (Olympic gold-medal-winning U.S. ice skater) (69); Bobbie Gentry (singer, “Ode To Billie Joe”) (73); Maureen McGovern (singer, “The Morning After”) (68); Tris Imboden (drummer, Chicago) (66); Juliana Hatfield (pop singer) (50)

In the some things never change department, on July 28th, 1958 Esso Oil (eventually Exxon) releases a study that finds drivers speed more and therefore waste more gas when listening to the new fad of rock-and-roll music.

And on July 28th, 1974 Lynyrd Skynyrd releases “Sweet Home Alabama.”

Bugs Bunny and “A Wild Hare” first premiered in movie theatres on this date in 1940.

We’re almost to the weekend!! 😀
