Don’t look but the Holidays are here!

I know what you’re thinking:  “It’s toooo early for all of this Holiday talk!!”  Well, guess what?  Thanksgiving is just days away.  Christmas is right around the corner too.  The older I get, the faster it creeps up on me.  That’s actual science when you think about it…your perception is your reality.  The more experiences and years you have stored up…each year is a more and more tiny portion of your life and memories.  But imagine when you were little…and you only had a few Christmas memories.  They make up such large sections of your collective memory and, based on your (younger) perception, it takes much longer for the Holidays to roll around again.  I’ll stop here before we need an astro-physicist to explain it further.

I’m not fighting it this year.  We just returned from a long weekend in NYC where I took my wife to see the Rockettes in their Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall.  What an experience!  The spectacle and size/scope of the whole production had me amazed.  It also put me right in the Christmas Spirit.  Think about it for a second-the feelings it brings…the positivity, the hope, the joy, the love.  Why do we fight it so?  Aren’t we supposed to celebrate all-year, anyhow?  That is how some of the songs (which you’ll also be hearing very, very soon) say, anyhow.

Don’t be a Grinch.  Brighten up and smile.  It’s Christmastime.

Oh, and thanks to my wife for getting me the Billy Joel concert tickets for my birthday…and dropping the hint that she’d always wanted to see the Rockettes at the Holidays in New York.  Made me feel like a kid again.  We can all use that.

Happy Thanksgiving & Merry (early) Christmas to you all!
